The Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for building a sales organization and the energy and drive to thrive and excel in a fast-paced, start-up environment. To be a good fit for the Business Development Manager, Corporate Sales opportunity you should have:
  • Solid experience in B2B sales in the corporate space, ideally selling training/learning solutions
  • Proven consultative sales skills
  • A demonstrated ability to generate leads and build a pipeline that delivers results
  • Sales management skills, including establishing processes and developing a team

Our preference is that you are based in our U.S. headquarters in Dallas, TX, but we will consider highly qualified candidates who live in other U.S. locations. If you are based in Dallas you should expect to travel about 50% of the time to call on prospects and close deals. If you are not based in Dallas, you will travel 50% for business development and a little more for initial training. Either way, training may include travel to Taipei, Taiwan to be introduced to our parent company, iTutorGroup.

The Role

Your Mission
Not only are there more than a billion Chinese speakers in the world (it's humanity's most widely spoken language by far), but China is the world's second largest economic power, and one of the top global trading partners. Reporting to the Business Development Director, you will assume leadership of a team that currently includes a Corporate Sales Specialist. Building on existing efforts, you will refine and lead the execution of strategy to introduce TutorMing to corporations across the U.S. Quick question for you - click here

Your Role
This role has two components. On one side, you will partner closely with our lead generation program, including both internal and external resources. This program will provide you and your team with warm leads, and you will deliver presentations, negotiate terms and close deals. On the other side, you and your team will develop and pursue your own pipeline, including developing and growing a network that includes decision makers as well as general influencers and thought leaders in the corporate learning space. We have some contacts and you probably have some yourself, but we'll look to you to build a robust network.

The overall goal for you and your team will be to identify and engage prospects, demonstrate TutorMing, and help them see the benefits. TutorMing is not a "must have" purchase, like raw materials or accounting software. You'll need to emphasize the benefits and advantages, such as the unique immersive experience, in order to position TutorMing as the first choice in Chinese language learning.

More specifically, you will:
  • Devise, present and implement plans to penetrate the Chinese learning market in the corporate sphere
  • Devise, present and implement strategies to meet sales performance targets
  • Coach and train your team, helping them develop skills and master sales techniques
  • Monitor performance to targets and provide constructive feedback accordingly
  • Identify, prospect and deliver sales and sales channel opportunities
  • Work hand-in-hand with multiple departments, including marketing, operations and R&D, to ensure efficient operations in terms of services provided
  • Partner with the marketing team to design brand awareness and promotion campaigns for target market and clients
  • Manage customers' needs and expectation in line with company guidelines to ensure win-win relationships
  • Hire and train additional team members as the corporate sales channel grows
