The Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for building a marketing organization and the energy and drive to thrive and excel in a fast-paced, start-up environment. S/he will be a strategic and creative thinker who can see the big picture, but who is also willing take a tactical approach to the role in the first years as the Marketing team is being developed.
 
To be a good fit for the Director, Marketing & Brand Strategy opportunity, you will have:
  • 7+ years of strategic marketing and brand management experience, including:
    • Experience with eCommerce, an online service, or similar; knowledge and experience in the education market, ideally online education, is a strong advantage  
    • Significant experience and proven skill using analytics to track, measure and enhance marketing efforts

    • Experience promoting and maintaining a portfolio of well-defined brand(s)
  • 5+ years of leadership experience; the ideal candidate will have previously built/grown a team in a high-growth environment
  • A bachelor's degree in eCommerce, Marketing, Business, Analytics or other relevant field; a master's degree preferred; affinity for technology

The Role

Your Mission
As Director, Marketing and Brand Strategy, you will be an integral member of an emerging leadership team and Marketing and Business Development organization located in Dallas. While we have 80 people working in the U.S., they are primarily in our Santa Clara location. You will join us in Dallas where you will develop a marketing and brand strategy and begin building a Marketing team.
 
Your Role
You will be responsible for directly managing marketing and communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect our brand. Your key objectives will include:
  • Expanding our position in the U.S. by driving broader brand awareness of our products, specifically in verticals including:
    • Online education, K-12 and college level
    • Corporate programs

  • Developing a strategic marketing plan; you will be involved with execution early on, but will outsource campaigns and leverage marketing resources in Taiwan
  • Overseeing search engine optimization, social media marketing, direct mail, and other channels
Specific goals and responsibilities will include:
  • Owning and driving all business metrics and analytics to support global online marketing strategy, from traffic to CPA to ROI
  • Maintaining executive-level global marketing dashboard, including business growth metrics, and driving regular review cadence and action
  • Partnering closely with Business Development team to manage end-to-end funnel commitments
  • Partnering closely with Product Development, Business Development, global teaching resources, R&D and Finance leadership and teams on investment models and planning
  • Managing annual and quarterly planning globally, including budget and headcount processes
  • Coordinating quarterly and weekly executive and sales management deliverables
  • Sharing key marketing impact with broader iTutorGroup Executive Management team
